Finding your favorite cup of joe can be a daunting task in a city as huge and widespread as L.A. The good news is that Angelenos love their coffee and, whether you are in Santa Monica, Silver Lake or WeHo, the city is filled to the brim with cool indy coffee shops.  Luckily for you, as coffee addicts, we've made it out mission to uncover the finest brew. Here is our guide of the city's best coffee shops. Drink up!

1331 Abbot Kinney Blvd., Venice, CA 90291 (additional locations in Silver Lake and Pasadena)

Tucked away on hipster cool Abbot Kinney, this coffee shop has a minimalist industrial design aesthetic. Expect line-ups throughout the day as locals wait patiently for their pour-overs and cold brews. We personally love the's truly one of the best we've ever had.

As if you need a reason to visit downtown L.A.'s Arts District. But if you find yourself there, be sure to make a pit stop at Blue Bottle. The hip cafe and roastery marks this San Francisco-based company's entree into the L.A. market.  A rotating selection of blends and single origins are served as drip coffee, along with their Dandy Espresso, which is exclusive to Los Angeles.

8428 Melrose Place., Los Angeles, CA 90069 (additional locations in Brentwood and Silver Lake)

Yes, there is a place called Melrose Place in West Hollywood - albeit a charming, tree-lined street, not the apartment complex of sexy twenty-somethings we all know and love - and Albert Coffee, one of the city's most popular coffee houses, calls it home. Originating in 2013, it is a neighborly spot where locals gather for quality coffee and quick bites. INSIDER TIP: Legendary gourmet chocolate maker, Compartes Chocolatier has set up shop in a tiny room at the back of the store. Pop in for samples!

6114 W. Washington Blvd., Culver City, CA 90232

What started out as a pop-up concept inside Proof Bakery in Atwater Village, Cognoscenti Coffee's brick-and-mortar Culver CityArts District location woke up the neighborhood with its high-octane espressos and single-cup coffees made with beans sourced from a variety of high-quality roasters.

When the flagship location of Bulletproof Coffee opened in June 2015, curious coffee addicts and health-conscious locals rejoiced. Served in glass beakers, the signature Bulletproof Coffee is high-quality upgraded coffee blended with grass-fed butter and Brain Octaine Oil. Yes, you heard us right! The cafe also serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.
