I got invited to my first Los Angeles media dinner last night and it was a very memorable dining experience. Not only did I get to sample some impeccable dishes at The Independence, I had the unique opportunity to mix and mingle with some really interesting and fun fellow food bloggers.
Housed in the space formerly occupied by Buddah's Belly (same owner), The Independence touts itself as a neighborhood watering hole that celebrates locality with a refined market-driven menu by Chef Tom Block and killer cocktails by Vincenzo Marianello. We had the pleasure of sampling many of their signature dishes, including my favourite, the smoked whitefish toast. Yum!
