Since 1934, native Angelenos and visitors alike have been going to the Original Farmers Market at 3rd and Fairfax to shop for farm-fresh produce and indulge in the many culinary delights found at the 100+ stalls and restaurants. I spent some time there on Saturday perusing the grocers, specialty shops and merchants, enjoying everything from melt-in-your mouth apple fritters and cabernet sauvignon ice cream to caviar cheese and homemade falafel made by a Canadian expat!
Right next door to the market is The Grove, LA's world-famous outdoor shopping center. Impossible to resist great deals, I indulged in a bit of shopping - the sales were fantastic - engaged in a bit of people watching and took in the sights. Then it started to rain - yes it rains in here on occasion - so I called it a day. Such is life in beautiful LA!
