I haven't spent a lot of time in downtown L.A. - yet - so when a friend invited me out for drinks at the Ace Hotel, I jumped at the opportunity.
Ace Hotel Downtown Los Angeles, which opened in early 2014 in the historic United Artists building on South Broadway, is part of a collection of uniquely individual hotels around the world, with additional locations in Palm Springs, New York, Portland, Seattle, New York, London and Panama. It has quickly established itself as THE place to be for creative types and wannabes alike who work and play in the downtown core, which is experiencing a renaissance of its own at the moment.
I suggest you head straight to the rooftop bar, which boasts signature cocktails, stunning views and even a hot tub, if you're so inclined! We spent our evening sipping champagne by the fireplace and mingling with artists who were there to celebrate an art competition.
